The briefing was attended by the head of Rospatent Grigory Ivliev, President of mutual Fund NATIF.IO CEO «Simonov and a iittle bit,» Boris Simonov, Deputy Director of the Federal Institute of industrial property (FIPS) Alexander Gorbunov, General Director of the platform for technology competitions for solving problems of companies and for the selection of personnel «Aktum» Oleg Mansurov.
Grigory Ivliev said that the upcoming conference will be one of the main events of the year in the field of intellectual property (IP) at the international level. Conference participants will be representatives of 20 States, the heads of the patent offices of Brazil, Turkey, Kyrgyzstan and the Eurasian patent office (EAPO). On the «Digital transformation» will arrive official delegation of the world intellectual property organization (WIPO), Chinese and Japanese patent offices, which are at the forefront of technological development. More than 70 experts in the field of IP and modern digital technologies will discuss the use of the blockchain, artificial intelligence and big data in the areas of patent and copyright law.
“I draw your attention that our conference will be not visionary, and practical. We will not discuss theory, practice, examples, integration of new technologies in the classical system of patent law”, said the head of the Federal service for intellectual property. “Now under examination at the Rospatent is more than 280 applications for inventions related to the technology of the blockchain. Digital transformation requires patent offices of the response to this challenge.”
Rospatent was supported by one of the organizers of the conference, President of the mutual Fund NATIF.IO Boris Simonov, the predecessor of Gregory Ivlieva, as head of the Russian patent office. According to him, the world is the next industrial revolution, change of the productive forces, and the challenge our country to be among the leaders of the digital revolution. At the conference on April 16-17, Boris Simonov will conduct the work of the section «Industrial property. Smart patent and trademark office. Blockchain in the turnover of rights to objects of IP», which will be held in the first day of the forum.
“Our goal at the conference to take away all those elements from the world of new technologies that can be integrated into the work of patent offices. Deputy Director of FIPS Alexander Gorbunov said that the Russian patent office elements of the technology of the blockchain was used until, as the technology began to enjoy all the attention. The experts also prepared a request for development of service of preliminary applications, which will be one of the competitive tasks of the hackathon at the conference.
“In addition to the competition of the project, at the conference we will show two pilot prototype using the technology of the blockchain is in the patent office. General Director of the platform «Aktum» Oleg Mansurov noted the importance of attracting young people to work on projects using modern technologies. He also spoke about the details of the hackathon that will take place in two stages: on the eve of the conference teams from Moscow, Petersburg, Kazan and Rostov-on-don will be working on competitive jobs, and in the days of the conference there will pass solemn ceremony of awarding the winners. The Grand prize winners of the hackathon — 200 000 rubles.
